Multipoint is the name of the collaborative group I organized for nearly 15 years in the greater Los Angeles area. It went through many iterations and produced much fine, ephemeral artwork, but it's greatest contribution to the field of collaborative studies was the way it facilitated community formation among broad-minded thinkers and makers, ones committed to working on the edges of the well-known terrain of art galleries, biennales, and faires.

The video below is from the final work that Pam Strugar and I created for the now defunct Groundspace Project in downtown Los Angeles. We used the I-Ching, a German dictionary, and maps we created of our imaginal realms to diagram the uncertainties in shared labor, relational practices, and their expression in language. An oddly meditative terrain, the installation used ephemeral building materials, old technology, and database queries to generate its topographies.

Pam Strugar is developing a creative archive of the last 10 years of Multipoint's activities. The archive will be featured in an upcoming issue of Legende Journal.
